Attention authors, writers and aspiring writers!

The California Writers Club has formed and chartered a new branch in the south part of California's Central Coast. The Coastal Dunes Branch is centered in the south part of San Luis Obispo county and the northern part of Santa Barbara county. Anyone residing in either of those counties is welcome to attend our monthly meetings, workshops or other sponsored events.

Shifting SandsShifting Sands is the first anthology for the Coastal Dunes Branch. Volume I is a collection of literary works showcasing the talented writers of the breathtaking Coastal Dunes region of California. Our anthology is a compilation of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry pieces covering a variety of genres written by members of the Coastal Dunes Branch of the California Writers Club.

Featured Presentation: Not-So-Secrets to Writing and Publishing

Speaker: Mark Parsons

Mark Parsons has written professionally for twenty years, penning over two hundred articles for national publications as well as a pair of non-fiction books.

His first YA novel, ROAD RASH (Knopf/Random House) is a band-on-the-road novel which explores coming into adulthood and being the driver of your own bus.  It was named to the 2015 ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults list, as well as Bank Street College’s Best Children’s Books of the Year list.

Mark will discuss some “Not-So-Secrets to Writing and Publishing.”
Additionally, he will be happy to take questions.
